College: Dubai Men's College

I feel very proud of being a graduate from the Higher Colleges of Technologies, as I feel it was a good opportunity for us to be enrolled with the HCT as students, because the market has supported our skills and the knowledge we have obtained helped us a lot to progress with our career development.

My story started when I graduated as a holder of a Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, and I got the opportunity to work for an international consultancy firm called EC Harris International as Assistant Project Manager. Luckily, I worked on very important projects in Dubai such as Dubai Marina and Dubai World Center Expansion.

After working in the private sector I got the opportunity to work with Dubai Government and I accepted a role in Dubai Municipality as an Inspection Engineer. In less than two years I have been promoted to head of the inspection unit.

While at Dubai Municipality, a unique opportunity arose for me to be the Assistant Development Director with Nakheel. My responsibility was to develop the tallest building in the world, which is a 1050 meter high building.

As the financial crises heavily impacted the market, I got an opportunity to get promoted and to manage the Urban Planning Department for the whole of Nakheel Developments. I was able to manage all their development for four years before I resigned and started working in my own business.

Working for Nakheel encouraged me to start my master degree in Urban Planning and Design with the American University of Sharjah. I am now a final year student and expect to graduate this year.

My last work destination is managing my private business. I manage my own company in Dubai and I see it as a  very fast developing company because I have gained the right skills and knowledge that will help me to outshine in my business.
