On Friday, January 16, 2004, at Abu Dhabi’s Marina Mall, the HCT organised more than 6,500 people, dressed in red, white, green and black t-shirts and caps, to form a giant UAE flag, measuring over 800 square meters. It was to be the creation of the largest human flag in the UAE.

The flag was created to give all residents and citizens a unique opportunity to show their respect for the UAE President, H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, Founder of the Nation, and to raise money for Medecins sans Frontieres and the Red Crescent.

The event was dedicated to The President, H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan under the patronage of H..E Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister for Higher Education & Scientific Research and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology.

There was entertainment throughout the day, with many prizes given away.
